6 ~ The Lovers

Swans are pair bonding animals and may mate for life. The lovers card does not represent a simple union between mates however. This is a marriage of consciously constructed opposites represented by a sanctified relationship between archetypal genders, symbolized here by the bodies of the biblical Adam and Eve.
