Luminary Reports for July/August 2005
July 21 ~ Full Moon in Capricorn
August 19 ~ Full Moon in Aquarius
Cancer New Moon | 8:02am EST
Our new Cancer moon brings a strong cardinal focus to the skies. Here we have
the moon at home in her lunar sign, warrior Mars similarly dignified and Jupiter
in Libra, all forming a T-Square. Actions are sweeping, grand and pretty ungrounded
with Neptune making flowing aspects to the Jupiter-Mars opposition and with
Saturn trudging unaspected through the last couple degrees of Cancer. Things
may be in fact, downright jittery with Uranus inconjunct Jupiter and the Venus-Mercury
conjunction. Factor in the lack of earth and you'll find this is not a great
time to get deep into the concrete details of any projects. Instead, the skies
are favouring breaks in routines. Do something magnanimous. If you're in a relationship,
try something romantic or unexpected. If you're looking to get attached, now
is the time! Jupiter has gone direct (since June) in the sign of love and relationships
and dynamic lusty Mars is making a favourable aspect to Venus, the planet of
love and Mercury, planet of communication. Just make sure you don't bite off
more than you can chew.
Capricorn Full Moon | 7:00am EST
It's our second Capricorn full moon and this one is quite different in two ways from the grand cardinal cross we had last time. This lunation, we're being treated to a dynamic fire trine and of course, Saturn has just moved into Leo after his long sojourn through Cancer. There is however, still a T square in the cardinal signs involving our sun-moon opposition and Mars, so there's still a hint of the last full moon.
With the two malefics, Saturn and Mars in the T-square, and the Jupiter-Uranus inconjunct lingering, caution lights are still on. Better to channel the intense fiery energy into something creative that can produce something from the unease.
Leo New Moon | 11:05pm EST
The new Leo moon is brings the focus to issues of procreation, self expression, pride, ego and the father. There's a strong sun/moon/Mercury stellium in the sign as well as Saturn. Saturn just moved into Leo last month, where it will bring structures and longevity, delays and restrictions for roughly the next 2.5 years.
The strongest signatures for this lunation are an opposition to Neptune and sextile to Jupiter. Grandiose dreams are great, but with Saturn squaring Mars in steady Taurus, putting these aspirations into action may not prove to be so easy, or practical. Feel free to daydream away this lunation but save the implementation for a more fruitful time. Enjoy the summer heat and do something creative, brainstorm.
Aquarius Full Moon | 1:53pm EST
The Aquarian full moon continues to emphasize fire and air with only Mars in Taurus, Uranus in Pisces. The tension highlighted by this axis is between the individual and the group. Leo says I am the center of the universe, Aquarius says we are all nodes in a greater network.
The formations are rather scattered this lunation so things may feel rather unsettled, or difficult to pin down. The big bugaboo is a loose T-square formed by a Neptune-Mercury opposition, squared off by Mars. Watch what you say and try not to get pigheaded about things while you wax philosophical about wild theories. This also may not be the best time to go pub crawling or trying out that new drug. Lay off the chemicals tonight.
